The Duché d’Uzès

Then 1st duchy of France and a vineyard steeped in history, lying between the Pont du Gard and the Cévennes mountains. The Greeks first introduced vines into the region over 2000 years ago with viticulture flourishing in the Middle Ages under the impetus of the Church. So from its rocky hilltop perch, the Duché d’Uzès has for centuries looked out over its vineyards which stretch from the edges of the Rhône Valley to the foothills of the Cévennes – a vast area, but one where each parcel has been meticulously selected. Over the last 20 years, winegrowers have brought their ‘terroirs’ and wines into the limelight to attain the recognition they truly deserve.

The Duché D’Uzès joined the upper crust of the wine world by gaining AOP status in July 2012.
